  • Degreaser
  • Rags
  • 80-grit sandpaper
  • Drywall plaster
  • Plaster knife
  • Sandpaper
  • Drywall sandpaper block
  • Paint
  • Paint tray
  • Paint roller

Instructions

      Remove buildup on the walls with a degreaser and a rag.

      Sand the paneling, using 80-grit sandpaper to rough the surface of the panel. Do not remove all the paint or stain from the panel, just create a rough surface to allow the plaster to adhere properly.

      Cover the entire wall surface with plaster and a plaster knife and apply additional plaster to any grooves or splits. Allow the plaster to dry, and sand to a smooth surface. Apply a second coat if necessary. Re-sand the wall to a smooth surface. Allow the plaster to dry completely before painting.

      Paint the wall, using a paint tray and roller.
