Instructions

1
Wrap your mounted bird in a polyethylene bag. Try to remove as much air as possible when you put the bird in the bag.
-
2
Put the bag in the freezer for a week. Make sure that the temperature in the freezer is at least as low as 5 degrees Fahrenheit, if not colder.
-
-
3
Remove the bird from the freezer and allow it to defrost for 24 hours, keeping it in the wrapping. The bird needs to be thawed all the way to the center, so if yours is quite large, let it defrost a little longer.
-
4
Put the bird back in the freezer for another week before taking it out and letting it defrost.
-
5
Place the bird back into a clean, secure case. Any cracks in the case will allow bugs to enter and infest your bird again.
