How to Register for the Praxis II Test

The Praxis II Test is required for teachers to receive their license to continue teaching.

Whether you are just beginning your career in education or want to continue in the teaching field, the Praxis II Test is a requirement for obtaining your license and certification. The test measures your knowledge and skills on a specific subject and is administered as a paper and pencil test as well as a computer-delivered test. Registration is required before taking either of the tests.

Instructions

1. 

   Test takers may register for the Praxis II computer-delivered test by phone.

   Register for the computer-delivered portion of the Praxis II test. Most of these tests are delivered year-round only by appointment.

   Register by phone by calling Prometric Candidate Services at 1-800-853-6773 on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. TTY users can call 1-800-529-3590. You need a credit or debit card to complete registration. If you are paying with a check or a money order, complete a Computer-delivered Test Authorization Voucher Request Form and mail to:

   To download the Voucher Request Form, log onto ets.org/praxis/registration. Once you receive your form, call Candidate Services at 1-800-853-6773 or 1-443-751-4859 to schedule your test. Allow about three weeks to receive the voucher.

2. 

   Registering online is an option for both paper and pencil and computer-based tests.

   To register online for the computer portion of the test, log on to ets.org/praxis/register.

3. 

   Be sure to bring your admission ticket to the testing site.

   Register for the Praxis paper-delivered test. It is only given at specific times during the year. Registration can be done either online or by mail.

   To register online, log on to ets.org/praxis/register/paper. Establish a username and a password, and also provide a valid mailing address, email address and a credit card for test fees.

   After completing your registration online, print your admission ticket and bring it to the test center. Online registration is not available to test takers with disabilities, those who require Monday testing and persons whose primary language is not English.

4. 

   You will receive your admission ticket in the mail before your testing date.

   Register by mail for the Praxis paper-delivered test. Complete the Praxis registration form found online at ets.org/praxis/register/paper. Mail the form along with a check or money order to:

   You will receive an admission ticket by mail to bring to the testing site.
