How to Stop an MSN Update
If you no longer wish to receive MSN updates, turn off the "Automatic Updates" feature using a few simple commands. The process is easy, and allows you to control the level of communication you receive from MSN. Just because you turn off the "Automatic Updates" feature doesn't mean you have to stay out of the communication loop; you can also obtain important security updates online by going to Microsoft's Download Center, which is available online. When you visit the download center, you can obtain updates, and in the event that you go with a different Web browser, stay current with what's happening with MSN security features.
