How to Convert Word 2007 Document to HTML

Convert Word documents to HTML using Microsoft Word 2007.

HTML is the standard text-based format for Web pages with static content. HTML can contain multimedia, such as images, audio and video, but the content is kept in another folder, not embedded in the HTML document. Whether you're creating a HTML Web page or simply want to view a Word document in a Web browser, you can use Word 2007 to convert a document to HTML format.

Instructions

1. Open a Microsoft Word 2007 document.

2. Click the "Microsoft Office Button" or "File" if you don't see a button.

3. Select "Save as."

4. Enter a new file name for the file and select a folder or network drive where you want to save the file.

5. Select "Web Page" from the "Save as Type" list. This saves your document as an .htm or.html file and creates a folder for the file's contents.

6. Click "Save."

Tips & Warnings

• To view your document as HTML, open a Web browser. Click "File" then "Open File." Select your converted HTML document to view it.

• You can also open the file backup in Word 2007 to edit the HTML.
