How to Hang Blinds for Bow Windows
Bow windows are similar to bay windows, only they often have four or more panels, giving them a more curved appearance. Because of the shape, finding window treatments can be a little difficult as the window sections may not be the same size. It is imperative that you measure each window individually. Measuring is the key to finding and hanging the right size and type of blinds in your bow windows. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Measure the width of each window individually between the casings. It is important to get accurate measurements, especially if the windows are different sizes.
-
2
Measure the length of each window as well so you do not purchase blinds that are too long or too short.
-
-
3
Purchase one set of blinds for each window using the correct measurements. Look for horizontal slat blinds or roller shades. Stay away from vertical blinds for bow windows.
-
4
Read the installation instructions that come with your blind sets because installation for different types of blinds vary.
-
5
Unwrap the brackets from the packaging, and hold them up inside of the window casing to see which way you need to attach them--usually the open side faces the inside of the house.
-
6
Mark the hole placenment in one of the brackets using the pencil. Measure down from the top and in from the front of the window casing. Transfer the measurements and marks to the window casing on the opposite side for the matching bracket.
-
7
Hold one bracket so that the holes match up with the pencil marks. Screw in the screws that come with your blind set to attach the bracket to the inside of the window casing using a drill fitted with a screwdriver bit or an electric screwdriver.
-
8
Repeat with the other side of the window section. Slide the blinds into the brackets, and slide the covers into the brackets to hold the blinds in place.
-
9
Test to make sure the blinds are even, secure and raise and lower properly.
-
10
Repeat Steps 6 through 9 to hang blinds on the remaining sections of the bow window.

Tips & Warnings
If you cannot find the exact width measurement you need, purchase a wider set and then cut them using a table saw. If you purchase your blinds at a hardware store, ask an employee to cut them for you.
