Junk email is unsolicited email that is sent to you without your consent. Sometimes your email service can't block everything that you consider to be junk, and sometimes there is a particular email address you want to block. Take control of your email by blocking junk mail with Outlook Express. Use these simple tools to keep annoying unsolicited out of your inbox.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Outlook Express, and press the "Send/Recv" button. Look in your inbox, and locate any junk emails. Click on the email. Select "Message" on the menu bar and "Block Sender." An Outlook Express confirmation message will appear. The message informs you that the email address has been added to your block senders list. All new emails from this sender will be blocked. This confirmation message prompts you to clear your inbox of messages from this sender. Select "Yes" to remove all current messages from this sender in your inbox. Select "No" to leave current messages from this sender in your inbox.

    • 2

Check your block senders list by selecting "Tools" on the menu bar and "Message Rules." Click "Block Sender's List." You will see the newly added email address from the sender you just blocked.

    • 3

Add more email address from unsolicited senders by clicking the "Add" button. Add the address in the "Address" field, and specify whether you are blocking email messages, news messages or both. Click "OK" to confirm.

    • 4

Modify existing blocked senders by selecting the "Modify" button. Modify the address in the "Address" field, and specify whether you are blocking email messages, news messages or both. Click "OK" to confirm.

    • 5

Delete existing blocked senders by selecting the "Delete" button. Confirm that you are deleting the block sender email address. Click "Yes."
