Connect to a wireless notebook with your laptop computer.

Notebook computers now have the ability to connect directly to an Internet source through wireless means. This is done through the built-in wireless sense found on the notebook computer. The sense detects available wireless (or Wi-Fi) networks and directly connects the system up to the wireless source. Although it does take some minor configuration, the entire process only takes a moment or two to complete.

Instructions

    • 1

Move your notebook computer closer to a wireless network. The closer you are to the origin of the network, the stronger your signal is going to be and the faster the Internet connection.

    • 2

Right-click the wireless icon on the lower-right corner of the desktop and choose "Enable," followed by "Search for Available Wireless Networks."

    • 3

Select the network you want to connect to from the pop-up window that displays all of the available connections, then type in any required password and click "Connect."

    • 4

Change the wireless connection at any time by returning to this page and selecting a different wireless source.

    • 5

Launch the Internet browser and your computer connects to the Wi-Fi source.
