How Do I Disable Java Script?

JavaScript is a programming language that allows website developers the ability to install and operate interactive components in websites. JavaScript allows things such as Flash games and advertisements to run properly. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8---IE8---utilizes JavaScript for these components to run on its web browser. It is possible to disable JavaScript in IE8, in the case that JavaScript is causing performance issues in your web browser.

Instructions

1. Open and run Internet Explorer 8 by double clicking on the web browser desktop icon.

2. Go to the "Tools" option located in the top menu bar and click on this option. Click on "Internet Options" in the drop menu.

3. Click on the "Security" tab found on the top of the "Internet Options" dialog box. Click on the "Internet" icon and click on the "Custom Level" button. The "Security Settings" list will appear.

4. Scroll through the list until you find the "Scripting" category. Disable "Active Scripting" by clicking on the "Disable" check-box. Click on the "OK" button to initiate the changes. Click on "OK" again to close the "Internet Options" dialog box. JavaScript is now disabled.
