      Remove the screws that support the back panel of the accordion. The back panel of the accordion will be found directly under the bass buttons.

      Pull off the back panel. Place the screws in a safe place. The bass button mechanism will now be visible.

      Clean the dirt and dust from the inside of the accordion with a vacuum.

      Wipe the metal poles attached to the bass buttons with a wet cloth. Remove any dirt and grime.

      Wipe the bass buttons with a dry cloth. Check for any build up of dirt around the end of the button.

      Replace the back panel and tighten the screws in place. If problems persist, then the cause could be related to the internal workings of the accordion. At this stage, take the accordion for professional repair service.
