Printed envelopes are often easier to read than hand-addressed envelopes. They also allow you to add a professional or creative touch to your correspondence. Printing small envelopes presents a challenge in comparison with standard-sized envelopes. Microsoft Word allows you to select from a variety of envelope sizes or set a custom size for the envelope.

Instructions

      Go to the "Mailings" tab in the ribbon at the top of the window, click the "Create" menu on the left, beneath the ribbon and select "Envelopes" from the options.

      Type the delivery address and the return address in the text boxes in the "Envelopes and Labels" window, which is the active window.

      Click the "Options" button in the lower part of the "Envelopes and Labels" window, which is the active window. In the "Envelope Options" tab, enter the size of the envelope or choose "Custom Size," and enter the dimensions of the envelope you are using in the text boxes. Click "OK." Adjust the font and position of the addresses, if desired.

      Click the "Printing Options" tab at the top of the "Envelope Options" window, which is the active window, to see the feeder method recommended for your printer. Click "OK" to leave the "Options" window.

      Load the envelope in the printer in the recommended manner.

      Press the "Print" button in the "Envelopes and Labels" window, which is the active window on the screen.
