How to Write a Thank You Note to a Delivery Doctor & Nurse
Doctors and nurses in delivery rooms of hospitals have an immensely challenging job that can be both rewarding and difficult on a daily basis. They are entrusted with delivering your child into this world from his mother's womb safely so he can go on to live a long and healthy life. As new parents are often overwhelmed with the new task of parenting, a thank you note post-birth can be a challenge to compose. Taking the time to do so, however, will likely bring a smile and a feeling of appreciation to the medical staff. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
-
-
1
Address the note to the doctor and nurse specifically or generally to the "delivery room team" to cover all doctors and nurses that may have assisted.
-
2
State your appreciation immediately following the salutation. Things to thank the staff for could be their patience, diligence, calm and kind nature or quick thinking.
-
-
3
Remind the recipients of who you are by stating your name, your child and husband's name, the room number and date of visit. If there were extraneous circumstances, you could mention those briefly as well.
-
4
Close the note with another heart-felt thank you and a wish for successful deliveries in the future.
-
5
Include a photo of your baby or child, depending on the age. Often the medical staff never gets to see the later results of their hard work, so a post-newborn photo would be inspirational and appreciated.
-
6
Add an inspirational quote or poem about doctors and/or nurses for an added touch.
