How to Register Zune

Many consumer electronics manufacturers offer limited product warranties for a year.

Microsoft encourages Zune owners to register their device because there are tangible benefits in doing so. Your Zune player has a warranty, like many other consumer electronics, and after registration you can view the status of that warranty so that you are educated about coverage. If you should need to exercise that warranty on a repair, you can track the status of that repair via your Zune account that was created after registration. You can also update your personal or product information on your own, giving you greater control over your Zune account management. Registration is informative, time-saving and user-friendly.

Things You'll Need

• Windows Live ID email address and password

Instructions

1. Visit Zune's "Registration, Warranty and Service for Zune" webpage (see Resources).

2. Click the "Sign In" button to go to that page. Type in your Windows Live ID email address and password, then click the "Sign In" button.

3. Click the "Register a Zune" option.

4. Type your personal and Zune product information into the form, then click the "Submit" button to complete registration.

Tips & Warnings

• Click the "Register another Zune" option if you have previously registered another device.
