How to Dismiss an Exotic Pet While Being a Marksman in WoW

"World of Warcraft" offers players of the hit multiplayer online game the chance to select from a variety of classes. Each class offers different skills, specializations and abilities to the player's hero character in the game. The hunter class can learn to tame exotic pets through the Beastmaster specialization or can focus on firing ranged weapons as a Marksman. Players regularly dismiss their pets, allowing them to roam free for a time, to avoid the upkeep required in the feeding and care of powerful combat beasts.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click on your exotic pet's portrait to bring up the context menu for pet commands. The portrait appears in the upper left corner of the screen under your hunter's image and health bars.

    • 2

Select "Dismiss Pet" from the menu. Dismissing your pet allows you to call it back at any time with the "Call Pet" command.

    • 3

Visit a skill trainer to change your skills back to Beastmaster from Marksman at any time. These specializations are available under the talent menu as well. Only beastmasters can tame exotic pets, while marksmen have access to more mundane animal companions and more powerful ranged attacks.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also create a shortcut to the Dismiss Pet ability by dragging it from your spellbook to your hotkey slots located at the bottom or side of your interface.

  • Do not select "Abandon" pet instead of dismiss. Abandoning your pet will remove it from you forever, and a new pet will have to be captured and trained.
