How to Delete an Email From the Drop List in Windows Live Messenger

Windows Live Messenger allows users to sign in from any computer and send and receive instant messages with other users online. In some circumstances, such as when using a public computer, you may not want your email address to appear in the drop-down list where other people who use the computer will be able to see it. This procedure is also useful if you want to clear the emails of other people who have used Windows Live Messenger on your computer from the drop list, so it is easier to find your own email address.

Instructions

1. Open Windows Live Messenger. If it signs you in automatically, either click "Cancel" before it is done signing in or sign out by navigating to "File" and "Sign out."

2. Select the email address you would like to remove from the drop list.

3. Click the rounded arrow button to the right of "Sign in as" to show a set of options associated with the email address you have selected. In some versions of Windows Live Messenger, you do not have to do this step.

4. Click on the blue text that says "(Forget me)" located below or to the right of "Remember me."

5. Repeat the process for any other email addresses you would like to remove from the drop list in Windows Live Messenger.
