How to Purchase Wholesale Items
Buying items wholesale refers to buying them in bulk from a distributor or manufacturer. Buying items wholesale is a great way to save money, assuming that you're willing to buy in bulk. If you just purchase a single item from a wholesaler then you're not likely to save much money, but the bigger your order, the bigger the per-item discount you're likely to receive. While there are some physical wholesalers out there, many of them operate on the Internet to save overhead costs.

Contact the brand name manufacturer and ask to purchase items from them. Whether it's Sony electronics or Craftsman tools, manufacturers are usually happy to sell what they're making to anyone who asks. However, these manufacturer's may not want to sell to individuals who aren't licensed distributors, or who don't buy large enough loads of material. Manufacturers may also be leery of selling to individuals rather than to businesses.

Look for businesses that sell items at wholesale prices. Some famous outlets are Sam's Club and Costco, which both sell common household items in bulk. You could also look for auctions where businesses sell large amounts of material at wholesale or below wholesale prices in order to help raise funds. Some of these auctions happen when businesses have to close, but they need to sell off their stock.

Find wholesale distributors on the Internet. Places such as 4sgm.com carry a variety of wholesale merchandise that you can order straight from your computer and have shipped to your home or business. Regular Internet auction sites such as ebay.com also host auctions of large, bulk orders at low prices that you may want to take advantage of.
