How to Write a Killer Fashion Resume
You can make a resume stand out from the rest, by placing emphasis on design and content. Designing and writing a fashion resume that draws attention to your skills and experience is fairly easy. With the use of dynamic action words you can make a resume that is above average and will help you secure the position you desire.

Write your name and place it in the header section. Use bold, italic, Times New Roman 18 point font.

Write your address and place it underneath your name in the header section. Use italic, Times New Roman 11 point font. Type in your street address, city, state and ZIP code. Include your contact phone number. Write your email address.

Create a section and title it "Career Summary." Including one paragraph, write clear sentences describing your experience in the fashion industry. Highlight career milestones that you will not mention in the professional experience section of your resume. For example, you might write, "Fashion Buyer, with ten years experience, knowledge of new product launching and consumer buying habits." Or you could write, "Savvy Visual Merchandiser with a professional background in men's wear display." Include at least five strong statements.

Create a section and title it "Accomplishments." Use attractive bulleted points. Write six to eight accomplishments that you've made in during your fashion career. A bulleted point might read, "Managed ready to wear fashion show of 30 models, during ABC fashion week."

Create a section and title it "Professional Experience." Beginning with your most recent employer, write the company name, underneath write your job title. List the start and end dates of employment. Using complete sentences list your responsibilities for each employer. Use action words. Here's an example, "Managed buying team of five and was in charge of new product research and development."

Create a section and title it "Professional Education and Training." Type the school name, the type of degree you received, and include year of graduation. Be sure that this section contains relevant training experience you've had as well.

Proof read for clarity and spell-check your resume for errors.
Use simple word processing tools to highlight portions of your resume. For example, the text highlight tool in Microsoft WORD can be applied to each section of your resume. You can underline job titles you've held etc.
