Removing My Web Search from your computer can be accomplished in a few simple steps.

My Web Search is a toolbar that is downloaded along with the Fun Web Products suite of applications, such as Smiley Central and My Mail Stationery. It tracks the websites you visit through cookies stored on your computer. While it is not spyware, it has been known to slow down a computer, which is why you might consider removing it.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on "Start," "Settings" and "Control Panel." Double-click "Programs."

    • 2

Look for My Web Search in the list of programs. Click "Uninstall" for each one found.

    • 3

Look for the other programs that sometimes are installed with My Web Search: My Way Speedbar and Search Assistant-My Way, for instance. If you find any of these in the program list, uninstall them by clicking on "Uninstall." Close out of the Control Panel window by clicking on the "X" in the top right corner.

Open "Computer" and double-click "Local Disk (C:)." Click on the "Programs" folder and look for folders "FunWebProducts" and "MyWebSearch." If you find any of them, right-click on each and select "Delete."
