How to Find the CVV Number

The CVV number is easy to find on any credit or debit card.

All credit cards have a three- or four-digit CVV number, a security code for your card. Most businesses will ask for the CCV number when you make a payment over the phone or online.This reduces the risk of fraudulent use of your credit card number. Knowing where to find the CVV number is important and easy.

Instructions

1. Pick up the card on which you wish to find the CVV number.

2. VISA, Mastercard and Discover cards place the CVV number on the back of the card. American Express and a few other credit card companies place the CVV number on the front.

3. On the back of the card, the CVV number is usually located above the signature line toward the right of the card.

4. On the front of the card, the CVV number is usually directly above the credit card number to the far right.
