How to Copy Firefox Bookmarks to a Flash Drive

Back up your Firefox bookmarks with a flash drive.

Computers can crash, causing the loss of important data. In addition to regularly backing up files such as documents, music and photos, consider backing up your Internet bookmarks. Copying your Firefox bookmarks to a flash drive will ensure that you don't lose your favorite Internet places, whether you're buying a new computer or need to reformat your hard drive.

Instructions

1. Connect your flash drive to a USB port on your computer.

2. Open Firefox and click "Bookmarks."

3. Select "Organize Bookmarks" from the drop-down menu. Alternately, press "CTRL," "SHIFT" and "B" at the same time. This opens the bookmark "Library" window.

4. Click "Import and Backup." Select "Backup" from the menu to open the "Bookmarks Backup Filename" window.

5. Type a name for your bookmarks in the box beside "File Name."

6. Navigate to location of your flash drive and click "Save."

7. Click the "X" in the upper right corner of the "Library" window to close it.
