How to BCC in Office Outlook 97 thumbnail
Using the BCC field in Office Outlook 97 lets you hide email addresses.

Blind carbon copies (BCCs) are a common way to copy others on an email without the primary recipient knowing it. This feature is useful when you need others to know about an emailed correspondence but hide their information from the person receiving the email. For instance, this can be useful if you applying for a job and you want to BCC the person who referred you about the job.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a BCC in Office Outlook 97 by updating the View Menu. Open Outlook and click on the drop-down menu near the "File" on the menu bar. Select "Mail Message." When the new email message opens, select "View" on the menu bar. Check the "BCC" field. This adds the BCC field to your email.

Compose a test email by adding a recipient email address in the "To" field. Add your email address in the "BCC" field. Add a subject to the email address in the "Subject" field. Type the text of your email in the space provided below the subject field. Send your email by pressing the "Send" button.

Verify the BCC by checking your Inbox in the Navigation Pane. Press "F5" to receive new email. If the BCC works, you will have this email in your Inbox. Once you verify that this is working, use this method for future Outlook 97 BCC messages.
