How to Use Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2007
There is no need to worry about creating a presentation if you have not used PowerPoint. PowerPoint 2007 has added many user-friendly functions. There are many templates to help beginners to start creating new presentations in no time.
Instructions

Create a New Presentation Using a Template

Double-click the PowerPoint 2007 icon on the desktop. If you do not have a desktop icon, click on the "Start" button, move to "Programs," then to "Microsoft Office" and select "PowerPoint 2007."

Click on the "Office" button in the upper left corner.

Select "New" from the Office button menu.

Scroll through the list of templates to select the one that best matches your presentation needs. You may select the template by double-clicking the template picture or by single-clicking it and then clicking on the "Create" button in the lower right corner.
Edit Text and Graphics

Double-click in each of the text boxes to edit the text. Type your text by typing directly over the sample text.

Press the "Enter" key or click your mouse outside the text box to complete the entry.

Single-click on any of the graphics that you want to edit.

Hover your mouse to the ribbon to view Shape Styles and WordArt Styles that you may add to your graphic.
NOTE: If you hover, you will be able to view the changes to the graphic. Do not click on the style until you have decided it is the style that you want to use.

Click on the style that you want to use. Notice the changes to the graphic. If you do not like the changes, repeat Step 4.

Use the Slide View Tab on the left side of the window to move to the next slide. You may also use the Page Up and Page Down keys to move through the slides.

Click on the "Home" tab to edit font styles, sizes and colors.
Insert and Delete Slides

Right-click on a slide in the Slide View Tab to delete or duplicate the slide. The right-click menu also provides an option to insert a "New" slide. A new slide will be placed directly after the slide in which the right-click was performed.

Click on the "Home" tab (if not already on the tab) and select the Layout for the slide in the "Slides" area of the ribbon.

Click on the "Layouts" drop down arrow and click on the appropriate layout that you want to use.

Continue editing and inserting slides until the information you are presenting is completed.

Click on the "Slide show" button on the lower right side of the screen to view the slide show. To present the slide show, use the "Page Up" and "Page Down" buttons on the keyboard.
Save the PowerPoint 2007 File

Click on the "Save" button on the QuickAccess toolbar in the upper left part of the screen.

Browse to the location in which you want to save the file.

Type a name for the presentation in the "Save as" field.

Click on the "Save" button to save the presentation.

Tips & Warnings
Use PowerPoint text as bullet points only. Do not type the entire text for your presentation. The audience should be using the presentation as an overview and you should be telling the complete story.
Do not add too many styles of fonts and graphics within one presentation. This can be distracting to the audience.
Use no smaller than an 18-point font, as the audience will not be able to see the text.
