How to View the HTML Source in Word 2007
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) source refers to code that is used to create web pages. Word 2007 will generate your HTML source code when you save a document as a web page within the application. While you cannot view the HTML source code for a web page directly in Word 2007, you can use a text editor to do so. You can also open the web page in a web browser and then view the source code from there.

Using Text Editor

Select "File" and "Open" in the toolbar of a text editor. The "Open" dialog box will open.

Browse to find the Word 2007 document that contains the HTML source you want to view.

Double-click the file to load it in the text editor. The HTML source for the Word 2007 will be displayed on your page.
Using Web Browser

Open the Word 2007 file in your favorite web browser by selecting "File" and "Open" (Internet Explorer), "File" and "Open File" (Firefox), or the "Open" icon (Opera).

Click on "Browse" to find the file (Internet Explorer). Double click the Word 2007 file to load it in your browser.

Right-click anywhere on the web page and select "View Source" (Internet Explorer), "View Page Source" (Firefox), or "Source" (Opera). The HTML source will be displayed in your default text editor.
