Vaporizer Directions

Vaporizer Directions thumbnail
Run the vaporizer in the nursery for a short time when children have a stopped up nose.

A vaporizer is an economical way for you to self medicate at home and put moisture in the air when your house becomes too dry. It is an appliance that is available in retail and drug stores and the directions are simple. You can use it for your children or yourself at home when you have a bad cold and congestion. It spews forth a warm mist that moistens the air. You can also put vapor rub in the mist tray to put this medicine in the air for a short period of time.

Instructions

    • 1

Put water in the vaporizer up to the fill line only. Do not overfill. If you need to run the vaporizer with vapor medicine, put the vapor rub (per its directions) in the small tray that sits in front of the vapor opening on top. Never put the medicine in the water. The hot vapor runs over the medicine tray and picks up the medicine and puts it in the air.

    • 2

Sit the vaporizer in the floor and plug the machine directly into the wall, without using a drop cord. Aim the vapor opening to the most open area of the room.

    • 3

Turn the vaporizer on for a short period of time, one to two hours. You don't want to saturate your furniture, carpet and curtains with dampness. Unplug the machine when you turn it off.

    • 4

Clean the medicine tray out after it cools off. Rinse the machine out after use and store empty and dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't use anything to "tent" the vapors. Just sit in the room to get the benefit from the vapor medicine.

  • Keep children away from the vaporizer. The vapor steam is hot.
