All AT&T phone numbers include a free voicemail box that allows callers to leave a voice message should you not answer their call. You can access your voicemail box from any phone, provided you know the four-digit pin number. Before your voicemail will record messages, you must set it up. When you setup the voicemail box, you will choose specific options such as a secret pin number and the style of greeting.

      Press and hold the "1" key on your cell phone to access your voicemail.

      Follow the voice prompts and enter the four-digit pin number that you would like to use. Press the "#" key. The system will repeat the pin number entered and will ask for a confirmation. Confirm that the pin is correct by pressing "1" or press "2" to reenter the pin. On some devices, the password is pre-set to the seven-digit telephone number.

      Press "4" to change your personal options and setup your greeting.

      Press "3" to change your personal greeting settings. Once in the greeting settings, press "3" to record your personal greeting. From this menu, you can program the system to repeat your telephone number, record and playback your name to callers, or create a completely customized greeting. Follow the recorded prompts to select and record your greeting.

      Hang up once your voicemail greeting settings have been saved.
