How to Build and Host a Web Page for Free
You may find challenges in building a free Web page because there is a cost for Web hosting. Web hosts own multiple servers that store the content of your website as well as track the people who visit the website. Using free online Web communities allow users to build websites without having to pay hosting fees. Limitations exist as to how much you can organize the website or there may be small ads placed on the site to cover the expenses for free housing.

1
Write the information that will be shown on your website using word-processing software. Include information about the chosen topic, about yourself, the product or service offered. Add unique and entertaining content as well as answers to potential questions visitors may have.
-
2
Take pictures with a digital camera of any images desired on the website. Websites without images may overwhelm visitors with heavy text and visitors may quickly bail. Most visitors prefer easy, scannable content with multimedia functions.Take professional quality pictures in a well-lit environment. Save images in a central location on your computer for quick access.

Locate a Web community that offers free Web page hosting. Dozens of sites online allow users to build free websites through a sub-domain of the main site. Create a unique website address for your Web page that is attached to the main domain of the Web community you join. An example of a sub-domain is "YourFreeWebPage.Web.com," with .Web being the Web community site. This is easily accomplished by running a search for free online websites using a preferred search engine (see Resources).
-
4
Select a website template and theme from the hundreds of templates the Web community offers. Templates are usually organized by interest, hobby, profession or color. Web templates are predesigned shells of websites that allow for the inputting of personal images and content.
-
5
Add content to the website from the saved word-processing document and upload the images to the Web page. Change font, colors and sizing of images and content using editing tools offered by the Web community.
