How to Reduce Photo Size & Crop Online
Reducing image size and cropping out unwanted areas can make a picture look better. You can use image editing software to edit a picture, but such programs can be difficult and confusing to use. Instead, you can use an online image editing website, such as Web Resizer, Pic Resize and Resize.it to resize and crop an image. With an online image editor, you can edit your pictures quickly and easily.

Resizing and Cropping Photos with Web Resizer

Go to the Web Resizer website (see Reference 1). Click "Browse" and select the file of the image you want to edit, then click "Upload Image."

Enter in the size you want to reduce your image to in pixels for both width and height, then click "Apply Changes."

Click "Crop Image" to enter cropping mode. A square will appear on the image. The portion of the image within the square is the part of the picture that will not be cropped. Move and resize the square by clicking on it and dragging it. Click "Apply Changes" to crop the image.

Click "Download This Image" to save the edited picture to your computer.

Go to the Pic Resize website (see Reference 2) and upload the image you want to edit by clicking "Browse" and selecting it from your computer,. Then click "Continue."

Crop the image by clicking on it and dragging your cursor to create a square on the image. Use this square to decide where you want to crop the image. Click "Crop Selection" to crop the image.

Select what percentage you want to reduce the size of your photo by. You can choose to reduce the photo by 25, 50 or 75 percent, or you can choose a custom size. To choose a custom size, enter in the percentage you want to reduce the photo by, or enter the number of pixels you want both the height and width to be.

Click "I'm done! Resize my picture!" to finish editing your picture. Click "Save to Disk" to save the image to your computer, or click "Save to Web" to save the image as a web URL.

Go to the Resize.it website (see Reference 3) and click either "Portrait Photo" to resize a portrait photo, or "Landscape Photo" to resize a landscape photo. Click "Browse" to select the photo you wish to edit from your computer.

Select the size you want to reduce your image to. You can select to use either pixels or percentages to resize your image. Click "Okay" to resize your photo. You will be taken to a web page with your edited photo on it.

Right-click your photo and select "Save As" to save your resized image to your computer.

Go back to the Resize.it website and click "Crop a Photo." Click "Browse" and select the photo you just resized, then click "Okay" to upload it.

Move the cropping box that appears over the image to choose an area to crop, then click "Crop It" to crop your image. Right-click your cropped image and click "Save As" to save the image to your computer.
