Windows Mail, the successor to Outlook Express, is an email management program that comes with Windows Vista. Windows Mail features spam protection, automatic email checking and newsgroup support. Windows Mail is compatible with all IMAP, POP3 and Windows Live email accounts. According to Microsoft's website, Windows Mail is not included with Windows 7. Windows Mail users are encouraged to transfer their Windows Mail accounts to Windows Live Mail--a free email client from the Windows Live Essentials program suite. You can delete messages in the Windows Mail client by following a few simple steps.
