How Create a Desktop Icon for Firefox

A browser allows websites to be viewed on the Internet.

A web browser is required to view pages on the Internet. Internet Explorer, Firefox and Netscape are popular Internet browsers. Firefox is a free web browser created by Mozilla that is unique in that it can be customized by programmers due to its open source format. Create a shortcut on your desktop for quick access to your Firefox browser.

Instructions

1. Right-click an open area on the desktop, point to "New." A submenu will appear. Click "Shortcut." A dialog box will open with the header, "What item would you like to create a shortcut for?"

2. Enter the name in the pop-up box and click "Browse." When Firefox is located, select the program or file by clicking "Open," then click "Next."

3. Type a name for the Firefox shortcut. Click the "Finish" or "Next" button at the bottom of the dialog box, if one appears. Click the icon you want to use for the shortcut, and then click "Finish."
