How to Reset My SpeedStream 4200 DSL Modem

Your SpeedStream modem 4200 can be reset in less than 30 seconds!

The SpeedStream 4200 DSL modem sometimes experiences a limited connection while surfing the net. Limited connection can occur in any DSL modem. You can do some troubleshooting techniques to isolate the problem but a hard reset is sometimes required.

Instructions

1. Unplug the modem from the wall outlet.

2. Shutdown your computer for one minute.

3. Plug the modem back into the wall outlet and boot your PC.

4. If you still encounter a bad connection press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds The reset button is located in the back of your SpeedStream modem next to the AC adapter. It is recessed so you need a paperclip or small pointed object to keep the reset button pressed.

5. Unplug the modem from your wall outlet. Press and hold the reset button for 20 seconds while simultaneously plugging the modem back into your wall outlet.

6. Reboot your PC
