How to Post Large Pictures on Craigslist

Post your large pictures on Craigslist

If you are trying to post an image on Craigslist, you may receive an error message telling you that your picture is too large to post. There is a very simple solution to this problem.

Instructions

1. Navigate to Craigslist.org and begin creating your posting.

2. Open a new tab or new window and navigate to the following site: http://www.tinypic.com.

3. Click on the "Browse" button on the TinyPic homepage.

   The File Upload dialog box will populate.

4. Navigate to the folder where the pictures you want to post can be found.

   Click the desired picture and select "Open" near the bottom right of the dialog box.

   The dialog box will close, and you will be returned the to the TinyPic homepage, where the address of your picture has filled the box beside the word "File".

5. Select an option from the drop-down menu next to the word "Resize". The option you chose determines how big your picture will be.

6. Click the green button "Upload Now!"

   A pop-up may appear asking you to verify an image. If so, type in the image (Captcha) as it appears, and click "Upload Now!"

   A screen saying "Uploading...Please Wait" will appear on the TinyPic website.

7. Click once in the first box, "HTML for Websites", to select the code.

   Right click and choose the option "Copy" from the drop-down menu that appears.

8. Navigate back to your Craigslist posting and left-click wherever you want your picture to appear in your posting.

   Right-click and choose the "Paste" option.

   The image HTML code will be inserted.

9. Finish creating your Craigslist posting and click the "Continue" button.

   The next page will show you a preview of your posting, where you will also see how your picture will appear.

10. Edit as you desire, or continue on to finalize your Craigslist posting.

Tips & Warnings

• If the picture you want to post is online and not saved to your computer, check off the option "Url" on the TinyPic homepage, and then enter the address of the picture in the first box beside the word "Url".

• The sizes in the "Resize" drop-down menu that you can chose on TinyPic are listed in order of size, from smallest to largest.

• If the resize option you choose is smaller or larger than you desire, return to the TinyPic site and redo the process and select another size option accordingly.
