Toolbars are applications that attach themselves to your browser or browsers and provide extra features. Although they are useful, toolbars also can become a nuisance because they take up physical space and virtual space. If you do not use a toolbar, you can easily disable or uninstall it. This takes a couple of minutes.

Instructions

  1. Disable Toolbar

      Launch your browser.

      Click "Tools" in the main menu bar.

      Scroll down and click "Toolbars." Click on the toolbar that you want to disable. The check mark will disappear. Restart your computer.

    Uninstall Toolbar

      Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your desktop.

      Scroll up and click "Control Panel." Choose "Programs" and then select "Programs and Features."

      Find the toolbar that you want to remove. Highlight it. Click the "Uninstall" button.

      Click the "Yes" button and then click the "Finish" button.
