How to Send Emails to Sprint Phones

You don't have to be a Sprint customer or even have a cellular phone to send an email to someone with a Sprint cell phone. You can email him directly from your favorite email program, and the message will appear as a Short Message Service (SMS) text message. In order for him to receive it, however, he must have an SMS-capable phone and the SMS text service from Sprint.

Instructions

1. Open your email program. If you use web-based email, log in to your account.

2. Address the email. Use the recipient's 10-digit cell phone number and add "@messaging.sprintpcs.com." For example, if your friend's phone number were [phone], the email address would look like: [e-mail].

3. Compose your email. Type your message in the body of the email. Click "Send" to send the message to the Sprint phone.

Tips & Warnings

• Plain text is best for emailing to a phone because it reduces the chance of unwanted characters appearing in your message. You can change to plain text in the font options of your email program.
