How to Eject a CD From a Macbook

Unlike a lot of Windows PCs, your MacBook has a recessed disc drive slot. So instead of pressing a button on the disc drive to eject a CD, you must use your keyboard. You can also easily eject a CD from your MacBook's desktop with your mouse or trackpad.

Instructions

  1. Eject Button

    • 1

Press and hold the "Eject" button on your MacBook keyboard. It is located at the top right of your keyboard, next to your "F12" key.

    • 2

Wait as your MacBook ejects the CD.

    • 3

Retrieve your CD from the disc drive.

    From Your Desktop

    • 4

Locate the CD icon on your desktop.

    • 5

Click it once to select it.

    • 6

Right-click it and select "Eject" from the drop-down menu that appears. Your CD will eject. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop the CD icon to the Trash to eject the disc.
