How to Download Music on a Disk

How to Download Music on a Disk thumbnail
Burning a music CD in Microsoft Windows is fairly simple once you know how.

In addition to allowing computer users to transfer their files onto a CD through Windows Explorer, Windows allows the user to copy music files onto a blank CD for later playing in most CD players. This is a fairly simple task, requiring only a blank CD and a few minutes of your time. Best of all, it is a process that is native to Windows, so it requires no special programs or downloads.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your blank CD into your computer's CD-R/RW drive.

    • 2

Open "My Computer" and browse to where the music files you wish to download onto the disk are located, highlighting them by holding down the "Shift" key and clicking on the first and last file in the group. Or, you can move each individual file at a time if they are in different locations.

    • 3

Open another instance of "My Computer" and browse to the CD-R/RW drive containing your blank disk.

    • 4

Drag-and-drop the music files you wish to copy over into the CD-R/RW window.

    • 5

Click the "Burn To Disk" option in the toolbar, then follow the on-screen instructions that appear in the "CD Burning" wizard. This will create a music CD containing all the music files you copied in the preceding step.
