How to Choose a Label Maker
People use label makers to add labels to all sorts of things. You can use them to organize your files in your home office or at work. You might use your label maker to address envelopes, or you could use it to keep track of inventory. Whether you're using your label maker for personal use or on the job, you need to be selective about which label maker you choose to use.

Look at the display screen. The display screen of a label maker shows you the text that will be printed on your label. The screen needs to be easy to read; it should be large enough for you to see without much difficulty. There should also be enough contract between the letters and the background for you to be able to read the text.

Test the keyboard. Like the display screen, the letters and numbers need to be easy to read. They also shouldn't be so small or so close together that it's difficult for you to type. Choosing a label maker that's easy to type on will minimize the numbers of mistakes you make.

Consider your needs. Some label makers will only print plain text. Others have special features that allow you to underline, italicize, create bold font, drastically change font sizes or print non-text images, such as symbols or barcodes. Decide if these are features you need.

4
Think about whether or not you need to carry your label maker around with you, such as bringing it from home to work. If this is the case, consider a portable label maker. If not, you can choose a larger model.
-
5
Choose the power source that's right for you. The options are battery powered, rechargeable battery powered or electric. Some models have the option to use batteries or a power cord. Generally, if you're not using your label maker that often, you can choose a battery powered model. If you're going to be using it a lot, such as every day, choose one that's powered with rechargeable batteries or a power cord.
