How to Change the Wallpaper & Font Color in Windows Vista
When you first purchase a Windows Vista computer, the desktop background (or wallpaper) and fonts will be set on the default mode. You can change and personalize both your wallpaper and the system fonts--size and color--to make the system uniquely yours. For the wallpaper, not only can you can change it to one of the many different wallpapers that Vista has, but you can even upload your own personal photos to use as the computer's wallpaper. Making these changes is not difficult, and you might even have fun experimenting with personalizing your settings.

Click on the "Start" button to open the Start menu.

Select "Control Panel" from the right-hand side of the m,enu. Click on "Appearance and Personalization."

Select "Personalization," then "Desktop Background" to open the wallpaper display.

Select the picture or color you want to use as you wallpaper by clicking on it, or click the "Browse" button to find and select a picture from another location, such as your "Pictures" folder.

Click on the "Start" button to open the Start menu.

Select "Control Panel" from the right-side of the menu. Click on "Appearance and Personalization" from the Control Menu.

Select "Window Color and Appearance." If you can not see an "Appearance Settings" dialog box, select "Open Classic Appearance Properties."

Click on "Advanced" to change the fonts. You'll notice that you can change the font in different parts of Windows. Select the areas of Windows that you want to change from the "Item" drop-down menu. Some elements with fonts you can alter include "Active Title Bar," "Icon," "Tool Tip" and "Menu."

Choose the color that you want to change the font to from the "Color List." You can also change the font size from the "Size List" and the font face from the "Font List." Click "OK" to save the changes.
