How to Dissolve Testors Glue
Testors glue and cement is a well-known product for hobbyist and craftspeople. It is durable, fast-drying and relatively inexpensive. It is not uncommon to accidentally spill or drip Testors model glue onto unwanted areas. If the spilled glue is wet, wipe it up with a damp cloth. Once the model glue has dried, it must be softened or dissolved to remove all traces of the adhesive. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Plastic paint scraper
- Paper towels
- Acetone nail polish remover
- Small container
- 2 cloths

Remove as much of the Testors model glue as possible, using a plastic paint scraper. Wipe the glue off the scraper with paper towels and discard in a trash can.

Pour acetone nail polish remover into a small container. Dip a cloth into the nail polish removed.

Scrub the glue with the cloth in a gentle back-and-forth motion. The acetone nail polish remover will help dissolve the glue.

Scrub the area gently until all model glue is dissolved. Use the plastic scraper--if necessary--to help remove the softened glue from the area.

Wipe the area clean with a clean cloth dampened in cool water.

Tips & Warnings
Test the acetone nail polish remover on an inconspicuous area of the item. If damage or discoloration occurs, discontinue use and replace with rubbing alcohol.
Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm water after working with acetone nail polish remover.
