Hypercam 2 is a video recording program that records activity from your computer. Generally, its primary use is to record tutorials and demonstrations. For most tutorials, recording sound is necessary to communicate with your audience. However, many people have trouble recording sound with Hypercam 2; the most common cause is incorrect sound settings. Once you set your sound options correctly, you will be able to record sound from your computer as well as sound from a microphone and add them to your videos.
Things You'll Need
- Hypercam 2 video recording software
- Computer microphone
- Audio driver
- Sound card
Open Hypercam 2 and click the "AVI File" tab. If "Record Sound" is un-checked, click to check-mark it.
Go to the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel." Click "Sounds and Audio Devices," then under "Device Volume," click "Advanced."
Click "Options" then click "Properties" and select "Recording." To record sound from your computer, check the "Stereo Mix" box. To record sound from a microphone, check "Microphone." Un-check all other boxes and press "OK."
Create a test video to ensure that Hypercam 2 will now record sound with video. Open Hypercam 2 and click "Play" to begin recording a video. Speak into your microphone and play sounds from your computer. Click "Stop Recording" to automatically save your video.
Go to the "Documents" folder on your computer, then open the "New Videos" folder and find the video you just recorded. Double-click your video file to open it. You should hear audio with your video.
