1
Keep your lips moisturized. A common cause of dullness and cracked lips is dryness. Applying lipstick over dry lips will lead to cracking and flaking, which will make your lip color appear dull and uneven. Apply an all-natural lip balm to your lips every night before bed. Also, apply lip balm before applying lip color.

2
Exfoliate your lips every few days. This will keep them free of dead skin and make them smoother. To exfoliate your lips naturally, mix together 1 tsp. of sugar, 2 tbsp. of honey, and a squirt of petroleum jelly. Dip your finger into the mixture and gently rub into your lips. Wipe away with a damp cloth.

Add an intense lip moisture therapy to your skin care regimen. As you age, your lips--much like your skin--will naturally begin to lose color and appear dull. Massage the intense lip moisture therapy into your lips each day--or night--as part of your skincare regimen.

4
Rub a small amount of lip stain--using a color that is close to your natural lip color--onto your lips. Apply the lip stain before applying your lip color. This will help keep the lip color from naturally wearing off your lips quickly.

5
Apply either a clear gloss or sheer shimmery gloss over your lip color. The gloss will boost the color of your lips. To apply lip gloss, place a touch of the gloss in the center of your lips and smooth it out. This will prevent you from applying too much.
