A WiFi connection allows you to send email messages.

WiFi is an Internet connection, which is usually available for free in WiFi hotspots. Sometimes, depending on where you are, WiFi costs money. Whether it is free or whether you pay for it, you can send an email from any email account you can access on the Internet.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your laptop and turn it on in a spot that is marked as a WiFi hotspot.

    • 2

Click on your Internet symbol. This is usually located toward the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Sometimes it looks like a small antenna. Other times, it looks like a computer. When you hover over it, it should say something like "Internet Connections" or "Not Connected." Click on it.

    • 3

Look at the available networks. Click the "Refresh" button toward the top of the box to see if there are more connections. Read the names of the connections until you know which one is the one related to the WiFi hotspot. Usually, it will be named something that relates to where you are.

    • 4

Click on the network you'd like to connect to. Usually, WiFi hotspots are unsecured. Sometimes, though, they have passwords. If you are prompted to enter a network key or password, ask the front desk wherever you are if they have one. Enter the password to log on.

    • 5

Connect to the Internet on your laptop. Once you are connected, open up your email program and send the email. This is a WiFi email, or an email sent over a WiFi connection.
