How to Reset a Nike Sensor
Released in July of 2006, the Nike + iPod sports kit is system that can be used during workouts to give information to the user about distance traveled and the pace at which its user is traveling. The sensor can even be linked to a heart rate monitor. Often, reset and subsequent calibration of the Nike + iPod sensor is needed if the system provides unexpected results. The Nike + iPod system is compatible with iPod nano, iPod touch, iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4.

Connect the Nike + iPod device to your iPod nano if you have not already done so.

Press the ''Menu'' button, scroll to the ''Nike + iPod'' option and select it by pressing the center button.

Choose and select "Settings," then "Sensor" and then "Calibrate."

Select either ''Reset Walk'' or ''Reset Run'' (for 4th generation iPod nano devices only).

Scroll to and select the incorrect calibration setting(for 3rd generation iPods), and then select the ''Reset to Default'' option.

Confirm the reset by selecting the ''Reset'' option for both the 3rd generation and 4th generation iPods.

Locate and touch the ''Nike + iPod'' application icon from your home screen.

Touch the "Calibration" option that can be found at the bottom of the "Workouts" menu.

Select the type of workout that you wish to recalibrate (either "Walk" or ''Run").

Touch the "Reset to Default" option.

Ensure the reset is confirmed by selecting the reset option when told to.

Apple advises that when you are calibrating your Nike + iPod device, walk or run at a steady pace for the entire designated calibration distance. To get the best results from your Nike + iPod, first reset the calibration and then recalibrate.
