How to Customize the MSN Toolbar

The MSN toolbar is a free application that places a toolbar under the address bar of your Internet Explorer browser. It allows you to search the Internet from any Web page as well as to access other Microsoft services such as Hotmail and MSN Messenger with the click of a button. You can customize the toolbar in many ways, including selecting the buttons it displays and the search engine you want to use.

      Click the "MSN" button on the MSN toolbar.

      Click "Toolbar Options."

      Click the "Toolbar Buttons" tab and select your preferences. You can choose from the various buttons available to add them to the toolbar. For example, if you add the weather button, you can click it and be taken right to the MSN weather site.

      Click the "Search Settings" tab. Here you can choose which search engine you want to use by default. You can add any search engine, including Google and Yahoo, if you want.

      Click the "Feedback" tab to choose how and when to send feedback to Microsoft.

      Click the "Auto Update" tab. You can select whether you want the MSN Toolbar to download and install updates automatically or if you prefer to check and install them manually.
