Perhaps you enjoy soaking in a hot tub on a cold winter's day. As is the case with any appliance, a Sundance hot tub may fail to work properly. Instructions

    • 1

Read the message on the panel display, if there is one. Sundance hot tubs have been designed to self-troubleshoot. The message on the display corresponds to a specific problem and is often the best and most accurate way to troubleshoot your hot tub. The message will also tell you how to respond to the problem. Contact the Sundance if you have lost your manual and can't find one online, or need help interpreting the codes.

    • 2

Check the Sundance hot tub’s plug or your circuit breaker if the spa does not operate. Make sure the unit is plugged in and inspect the plug for damage. Reset your circuit breaker if necessary.

    • 3

Depress the “Jets” sensor if the pump does not operate but the blower and light are working. If you do not hear a sound afterward or only hear a buzzing sound, there is a problem with the motor that needs to be further diagnosed by a service professional. If you hear the motor operating but no water is flowing from the jets, prime the pump. Turn off the spa, remove the filter and insert a garden hose into the filter pipe. Place a rag over the space around the hose. Turn up the water flow into the hose and let it run for 30 seconds. Turn the water off, remove the hose, replace the filter and turn the pump to high speed.

    • 4

Make sure the pump is set to high speed if little water is flowing from the jets. Press the “Jets” sensor until the spa reaches high speed and water flow improves. If this does not improve the problem, make sure the massage selectors are facing forward and not sideways. Make sure the water level is high enough to cover the jets; otherwise they will not operate. Remove all three filters and check them for dirt. Replace any dirty filters.

    • 5

Turn down the thermostat if the water is too hot. If this does not help, turn down the filtration cycle length. Press “Cycle” on the control panel. Press the up arrow to increase the cycle.

    • 6

Turn up the thermostat if the water is too cold. Leave the spa cover on during heating. If you see that the “heater on” light is lit but the temperature does not increase, this indicates a problem with the heater that needs to be further diagnosed by a service professional. The heater may need to be repaired or replaced.
