How to Connect iTouch Without iTunes
The iPod Touch is an advanced media device created by Apple. It supports various types of media, from music to movies, as well as applications. Most Apple products are managed using iTunes but there are various alternatives available for those who don't like the software. Each piece of alternative software is easy to install and easy to use.

Copy Trans

Download and install Copy Trans. (See Resources.)

Run Copy Trans Control Center and select the third option in the list (Copy Trans Manager) to launch the iPod manager software.

Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB cable and wait for the software to read your device.

Click on the icon labeled with an iPod and a plus sign to add media to your iPod. When you're finished, click on the "Eject" sign in the top left-hand corner and unplug your iPod.
Amarok

Download and install Amarok. (See Resources.)

Run the program and connect the iPod to your computer using the USB cable.

Select "Settings" from the toolbar, then click on "Configure Amarok."

Click on the "Media Devices" icon along the side of the settings box, select "Apple iPod" from the plugin drop-down list, then press "OK" to save the settings.

Click and drag files from your "Local Library" and drop them on top of the iPod icon located on the sidebar. To eject, right-click on the iPod icon and select "Eject."
SharePod

Download and extract SharePod. (See Resources.)

Plug in your iPod using the USB cable, then run the program and wait for it to detect your iPod.

Click on "Copy to iPod," then click on "Add Files."

Browse through your folders, select files and press "Open." Once you've added all the files to the list, press "OK" to synchronize the file with your iPod.
