How Do I Get Training to Become an Electrician in Nebraska?
Electricians work indoors and outdoors at different sites to maintain and install electrical wiring, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Licensing requirements vary from state to state. Most jurisdictions require licensing due to the hazards involved with the work, however. In Nebraska, electricians are required to complete a five-year apprenticeship in addition to licensing. Apprenticeship candidates should have strong science and math skills, according to the Nebraska Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. In May 2009, electricians earned between $43,490 and $75,550 annually, according to the BLS.
