How to Access a Wachovia Checking Account

Wachovia is a bank that is now a part of Wells Fargo. If you already have a Wachovia personal or business checking account, you can access that account online. Accessing your account online is free, but there is a monthly fee for using QuickBooks or Microsoft Money to manage your account. In addition to viewing your checking account, you will be able to see and manage all of your Wachovia accounts by logging on.

Things You'll Need

  • Wachovia checking account information
  • ATM or check card
  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Email address

Instructions

  1. Accessing your Checking Account

    • 1

Go to Wachovia.com and click the sign-up button on the left side of the screen. On the next screen, there are two enrollment options: one for individuals who do not have log-in information and one for individuals who received log-in information when they opened their checking account. Choose the one that applies to you.

    • 2

If you have log-in information, enter your user name and password to log into your account. If you do not have log-in information, enter your checking account number, ATM card number and your pin number. You will then create a user name and password to access your account.

    • 3

Accept the terms and conditions of online banking. Once you accept these terms, you will have online access to your checking account.

    Using your Online Checking Account

    • 4

Go to Wachovia.com and enter your user name and password on the left side of the screen to obtain access to your checking account.

    • 5

View your account information. You can see your balance, debits and deposits for the last 90 days and bank statements for up to seven years.

    • 6

Pay bills online, transfer money between your Wachovia and other bank accounts or order new checks. You can also change your password, e-mail address and mailing address online.

Tips & Warnings

  • You cannot change your user name once it is created, so be sure to choose one that you like and can remember.
  • A password is an important component of the security of your account. Choose a strong password with both letters and numbers. Do not use the same password you use for other accounts and do not share your password with anyone.
