Connecting a laptop to a projector can be very helpful during a business meeting. You can also use the projector to watch movies or TV shows through your laptop. The projector should come with the appropriate cables to connect to a laptop. The basic steps are the same, although your projector may require certain steps. Always consult the projector's manual.

      Turn off your laptop computer; do not turn the projector on yet.

      Connect one male end of the video cord to the female serial port on the projector, and then connect the other male end of the video cord to the serial port on the laptop. The port on the computer is most often a blue female port.

      Point the projector toward the screen; remove any lens caps from the projector.

      Turn the laptop on, wait for it to power up and then turn on the projector. Adjust the zoom, focus and position of the projector.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may need to press a function button on your computer to activate the projection. To do this press the Fn button while depressing the correct function button on the top row of your keys. This is usually the F3 or F4 button.
