Things You'll Need

  • 12 inches stretchy beading cord
  • 7mm silver jump rings
  • Pony beads in red, blue, green, white, orange and yellow
  • Alphabet beads
  • Lanyard hook
  • 6 silver stem beaders, 2 inches long
  • Scissors
  • Needle-nose pliers

Instructions

      Tie the center of the beading cord to a jump ring.

      String any six pony beads onto the cord.

      Use alphabet beads to add your name, then string six more colored beads. Tie the last bead to the cord, then trim.

      Thread nine beads onto the other half of the cord. Tie the last bead to the cord, and trim.

      Slip the jump ring with your name and beads onto a lanyard hook.

      Make friend tags to trade by threading 10 of the same color beads onto the stem beader.

      Curl up the end of each stem with needle-nose pliers to secure the beads to the wire. You should then have 6 beaded stem beaders. Trade friend tags with others.

      Use a jump ring to attach your friend tags to the lanyard with your name and beads. You can attach your zipper pull to your jacket, backpack, boots or purse.
