Instructions

    • 1

Inspect your home's roof area for any openings that potentially afford squirrels access to your attic. You may need to climb on top of your roof to locate these entry points.

    • 2

Place a live trap, baited with peanut butter, on your roof, near the suspected opening that leads to your attic. Refer to the instructions that came with your trap to properly set it.

    • 3

Check your trap daily to see if you have caught the unwelcome resident. Once you have, put on protective gloves and place a towel over the trap. Remove the trap from the rooftop carefully and set it on the ground.

    • 4

Inspect your attic area for any remaining squirrels. Cover the hole used by the squirrel to gain access to your attic.

    • 5

Take the squirrel to a wooded area far away from your home. Release the squirrel back into the wild.

    • 6

Inspect your attic for any torn up insulation, or wire or plumbing damage.
